DENPASAR, INDONESIA — The Master of Public Health (MPH) Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held an initial online discussion with representatives from the Australian National University (ANU) to explore opportunities for future collaboration in postgraduate public health education.

The Zoom meeting on 28 September 2026 involved representatives from Udayana University and ANU, including Dinar Saurmauli Lubis, Coordinator of the Master of Public Health Program at Udayana University, and Matthew from ANU. The discussion served as an early preparatory meeting ahead of a planned visit by the ANU team to Udayana University in October 2026.

The meeting explored several aspects that would need to be considered in developing potential educational collaboration between the two institutions. These included possible areas and formats of academic activities, relevant regulatory and institutional requirements, key persons and units to be involved in subsequent discussions, and the proposed agenda for the upcoming visit.

Participants also discussed the possibility of arranging separate sessions during the visit to accommodate different levels of consultation. These may include broader discussions with relevant institutional stakeholders as well as more focused technical meetings with program managers and academic teams.

At this stage, the discussions remain exploratory, with no specific model of educational collaboration yet determined. The planned October visit is expected to provide an opportunity for both institutions to further examine the academic, regulatory, and operational considerations involved in possible future collaboration.

The initiative forms part of the Udayana University MPH Program’s continuing efforts to strengthen international academic networks and explore opportunities for collaboration in postgraduate public health education. Through active engagement with international academic partners, the program seeks to broaden opportunities for academic exchange, institutional learning, and the future development of collaborative educational initiatives.
