Unud Master of Public Health Team Empowers Lebih Beach Sate Lilit Vendors Through SILIT-HIGI-DIGI Model

GIANYAR – The Community Outreach Team from the Master of Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (S2 IKM FK Unud), conducted an empowerment program for sate lilit vendors in the Lebih Beach area, Lebih Village, Gianyar. The initiative focuses on implementing the 'SILIT-HIGI-DIGI' model to enhance micro-business competitiveness through food hygiene, environmental sanitation, and digital marketing.

Head of the Outreach Team, Dr. Sang Gede Purnama, stated that the SILIT-HIGI-DIGI model integrates three primary components:

- Personal Hygiene & Food Safety: Raising standards for safe food handling and processing.

- Environmental Sanitation: Strengthening cleanliness management around business premises.

- Digital Marketing: Utilizing social media and digital platforms for product promotion.

Officially opened by the Head of Lebih Village, the event was attended by the Head of the Master of Public Health Study Program, faculty members, students, and local sate lilit vendors. Activities included interactive educational sessions, a needs assessment, hygiene practice demonstrations, and the distribution of educational materials. Through discussions, the team identified primary challenges faced by vendors, particularly limited sanitation facilities and low adoption of digital marketing tools.

This program was supported by funding from the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) through the 2026 Community Partnership Scheme, alongside support from LPPM Udayana University, the Lebih Village Government, and the Lebih Beach Tourism Management Board.

Through this initiative, Udayana University reaffirms its commitment to advancing public health and local economic development through science, technology, and community-tailored innovation.
