University of Udayana Post-Graduate Program Holds Meeting to Discuss Academic Guidelines for 2024
In preparation for the implementation of several changes outlined in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation No. 53 of 2023, the Post-Graduate Program at the University of Udayana convened a meeting to discuss the academic guidelines at 22 April 2024. Previously, the draft of the guidelines had been shared within the WhatsApp group of the Curriculum Workshop for participants to review individually. Invited participants included Vice Deans for Academic Affairs overseeing master's programs, program coordinators, including those from the Master's Program in Public Health, and quality assurance coordinators in the study programs.
The discussion on the academic guidelines and their alignment with DIKTI regulations is crucial, especially considering local rules or targets set by the university, accreditation requirements, and specific characteristics of the study programs that necessitate thorough understanding and examination before the guidelines become applicable to new students and other academic community members. For the Master's Program in Public Health, this event provided a better understanding of Ministry of Higher Education (DIKTI) regulations and policies translated at both university and post-graduate program levels. Additionally, it allowed the study program to identify potential hindrances and supports of the new regulation to overall student learning activities.
The event commenced with a presentation on the latest Curriculum Re-Orientation And Learning of the Master's Program by the Chair of the University of Udayana's Learning Development and Quality Assurance Agency. Subsequently, the Chair of the University of Udayana's Post-Graduate Program presented the substance of the Academic Guidelines for the Master's Program. The event proceeded with an active discussion, during which questions were posed to both speakers. Topics for discussion included student admission, determination of study periods, credit allocation, and graduation criteria and distinctions. Further deliberation on the draft academic guidelines will continue within the WhatsApp group, allowing for additional feedback and confirmation before the finalization of the guidelines.
