The health planning governance mentoring program conducted by FK UNUD has been running continuously since May 2025. It is specifically designed to provide technical capacity enhancement in preparing the 2025–2029 Strategic Plan (RENSTRA) and the 2026–2027 Work Plan (RENJA) for the West Lombok Regency Health Office. Preceding agendas covered in-depth reviews of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) in Health, draft RENJA desk reviews, an interim progress reporting meeting in Jakarta in July 2026, and the development of health planning systems oriented toward leveraging local community assets.

“Health planning that is developed on an evidence-based, comprehensive, and integrated foundation is far more than mere administrative compliance. Approximately 70% of health development success is determined by the quality of planning formulated. Through this cross-sectoral collaboration, we map actual community needs, prioritize key interventions, and maximize local resources across West Lombok.”

Key Highlights of the Mentoring Program:

  • West Lombok is designated as one of the 50 National Priority Regencies/Cities for 2026 by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.
  • Synchronization of the 34 Mandatory Indicators of the Health Master Plan (RIBK) into the West Lombok Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD).
  • Accelerating improvements in the Community Health Development Index (IPKM) alongside targeted reductions in stunting, maternal mortality rates (MMR), and tuberculosis (TB) burdens based on local capacities.
  • Active cross-sectoral engagement involving regional technical agencies, local higher education institutions, and development partners.

The coordination meeting engaged key institutional leaders in West Lombok Regency, including the Head of the West Lombok District Health Office, representatives from the Regional Secretariat, the Assistant to the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) for Health, sector-specific agencies (such as the Education Office and the Community and Village Empowerment, Population and Civil Registration Office), the Health Planning Team, Heads of Divisions and Sections within the Health Office, primary healthcare centers (UPTD Puskesmas), the Communication and Information Agency (Diskominfo), regional universities in West Nusa Tenggara, and development partners.

The primary outcome of the meeting was the shared formulation of a cross-sectoral Follow-up Action Plan (RTL) and mutual commitments to strengthen local regulations to achieve national RIBK targets. This sustained synergy among Udayana University academics, regional local government, and development partners aims to support an advanced, resilient, and prosperous West Lombok through responsive and sustainable healthcare delivery systems. This program is part of an ongoing partnership between the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, and the Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.
