Strengthening Collaboration and Knowledge in Travel Health: UNUD MPH Signs Implementation Agreement with UNLAM MPH
On Friday, August 22, 2025, the Master of Public Health Program at Udayana University (UNUD) officially signed an Implementation Activities (IA) agreement with the MPH Program at the Faculty of Public Health, University of Lambung Mangkurat (UNLAM) via an online ceremony. The agreement follows the broader Cooperation Agreement (PKS) and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) previously established between the two faculties. UNUD was represented by Dr. dr. Anak Agung Sagung Sawitri, MPH, while UNLAM was represented by Dr. Nur Rohmah, SKM, M.Kes., Ph.D. This IA represents a concrete step toward operationalizing collaborative efforts and is expected to lead to a series of tangible activities in the near future.
The signing ceremony was immediately followed by a guest lecture delivered by Prof. Ady Wirawan, a faculty member of the UNUD MPH program and lecturer for the program’s flagship course in Travel Health. The lecture, titled “Challenges in Global Mobility and Pandemic Health”, highlighted critical issues in public health that directly relate to the program’s specialization. The session also served to recognize UNUD’s expertise, particularly in Travel Health, and reinforced the program’s commitment to advancing knowledge in this field.
This collaborative initiative and guest lecture carry significant meaning for the MPH program. The IA represents a practical translation of institutional agreements into actionable, real-world activities, fostering inter-university partnerships that enhance academic quality, faculty engagement, and student learning opportunities. The guest lecture, in particular, enriches the curriculum by integrating current, globally relevant public health challenges, ensuring that graduates are prepared to respond to real-world needs. Together, these activities strengthen curriculum relevance, promote continuous faculty development, support the program’s vision and mission, and ultimately contribute to producing skilled public health professionals who can serve society, inform policy, and address emerging health issues, including travel-related risks.
