FETP Udayana University Spearheads Anthrax Prevention Workshop with One Health Approach

In a dynamic effort to combat Anthrax outbreaks, the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) at Udayana University contributed a pivotal role in a recent workshop held at the Harper Malioboro Hotel in Yogyakarta on February 19-20, 2023.

Spearheaded by the Ministry of Health Republic Indonesia, the workshop convened experts from various fields including the Surveillance and Zoonoses Team, CDC, FETP Indonesia, as well as mentors and students from multiple universities. Notably, FETP Udayana's own I Putu Aditya Anggriawan, Batch 14, 2022, showcased findings from Anthrax investigations previously conducted in Pacitan, where he had served on the Anthrax Deployment Team.

The workshop provided a platform for in-depth discussions on surveillance, investigation techniques, and effective responses to Anthrax outbreaks. Given the endemic nature of Anthrax in East Java and Central Java, the insights gleaned from these discussions are paramount for formulating proactive strategies.

The active involvement of FETP Udayana students underscores the university's commitment to addressing community health challenges beyond its Bali base. It also aligns with the broader mission and vision of the university to foster national collaboration in tackling public health issues head-on.
