Consultative Meeting on Climate Change and Health with Stakeholders in Timor Tengah Selatan Sub-District
Following the internal discussion about costing instruments and draft of frameworks of primary care adaptive to climate-change on early August 2024 in Bali, a consultative meeting was done in Timor Tengah Selatan Nusa Tenggara Timur. This consultative meeting is before head of the similar event in Karangasem Bali. For efficiency reasons, this activity will be following by the collection of costing data; using the developed and tested instrument. Similar consultative meeting will also be done in East Lombok Nusa Tenggara Barat in the second week of August 2024.
Similar like consultative meeting in Karangasem Bali, after qualitative and quantitative data collection and preliminary data analysis in previous months, the Koneksi Research team Bali, lead the group discussion of three participant groups: stakeholders, implementers, and community representatives. This meeting aims to clarify, to add, and to correct the miscommunication whenever existed during the data collection. Likewise, the discussion will shape the result of study to be more definitive.
On the next session, the audience were divided into small groups and having discussion to identify strategies related to policies and regulations, human and financial resource capacity, service provision, and solutions or innovations related to climate change. The interactive discussions in each group were facilitated by the Unud Koneksi team with the support of the Koneksi teams from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The activities ran smoothly and interactive. Participants from stake holders and implementers seemed to be very motivated to provide inputs based on their expertise. One dimension about cultural management conflict was proposed to the floor. It was also interesting that the cultural community leader from one tourism area at the mountain area also supported the idea, and provide examples of collaboration in cultural component and health. Anyway, the discussion ended due to time constraint.
Thanks to thorough preparations made days in advance, including to setup findings preparation and aligning perceptions among the research team members.
